Hello,
I am a registered user of Polderbits sound recorder and editor, I have been unable to contact the company and wondered if you know how to do so. Is Polderbits still in business?
Thanks
Don
Hi,
Glad to hear someone's version is still working! What did you do to maintain functionality? I thought everyone's 'paid for' version stopped soon after Rudi died...Mine did and no matter how clean my pc is i can't get an old or new version to work. The tucows version in their vaults appears to be corrupt/virus carrying so i do not trust the download from there.
Any ideas out there?
I got an old copy and still work 100% on my Windows 7, I am so glad I still have it working perfectly. Operating is so easy, got mine about 10 years ago, the paid version.
I also owned their software for some years. The last contact with them was when I bought a new computer and they sent me an Activation code by email... For a Neanderthal like me, the programme was so simple to use. What a shame that no-one in the Company continued on with the business. I miss them, and I found that the free programme that a friend installed for me was a nightmare in comparison.
I purchased the Sound and Audio Recorder/Editor years ago. I still have the installation file, however, it only runs on evaluation or trial period. The older access codes no longer work and I wish there was a way to get a new code so I can keep using the software. Very sad since we all paid for the program and can no longer use it like before.
Hello all, unfortunately Rudy Kok, the creator and person who ran polderbits died in 2013. That's why its down. I am serial #11, the 10th person who purchased the software. The website was up for a while after, but finally is gone. I am in the same boat, can't get it to register. Sad situation.
No amount of searching can find Polderbits, it's dead! That is, "dead and buried!" No alert to registered users nor offer of refund of "lifetime" purchase.
Can someone explain what the situation is now with Polderbits. I originally bought Polderbits Recorder & Editor in 2004 and ran it under XP. It is BRILLIANT. Now I have moved to Windows 8 and want to buy a new copy of Polderbits. But I am not sure what has happened to the company and who is now marketing - and supporting - Polderbits.
Also is a 64 bit version available or is it necessary to use the 32 bit version. Does the 32 bit version run under Windows 8?
I had the same problem as all of you. I found some replacement for music with a program called Magic Audio Cleanic 2014. Not too expensive (about 90 $), rather good performances, but much more complicated than polderbits. And I couldn't find such a great program as Polderbits Video Recorder, that allowed you to capture any streaming window on your screen... What a pity!
I even used it to make recordings of programs that were streamed on the internet, and also recorded audio from Youtube with it, very versatile and easy.
Guest, As for something as good as Polderbits Video recorder. I highly recommend "WM Capture 8".
It works really well, and once you get acquainted with using, it is relatively easy, with what seems as good as what Polderbits Video recording software did.
If you still have the download of the installer stored in your downloads folder, you can reinstall it for 7 days at a time. I just moved to a new computer and discovered this problem. Bur fortunately I still had that installer in the old computer.
I bought the 64-bit version, and it worked extremely well. It was a lifetime warranty. The program is now lost and I need a copy. I really liked Polderbit.
Me too. I bought a lifetime license from them and now they are gone. I had to change computers and you all know the rest. I am now trying to muddle my way through a Nero product with so many bells and whistles that I can't figure out how to do simple editing. I have hundreds of hours of music to go through yet, I built a kind of hobby around it. Now what? Any suggestions?
I just had the same thing happen to me, Had Polderbits for years I used to go to Cnet but now you can get your computer infected. I also want suggestions, there just isn't anything like the simplicity of Polderbits.
Are there no software geeks out there who could decompile the original file and get around the registration part? Surely someone could write a very similar prog. I bought a lifetime licence when it cost £8 and I had my money worth many times over.
