Guest No amount of searching can find Polderbits, it's dead! That is, "dead and buried!" No alert to registered users nor offer of refund of "lifetime" purchase.

Guest Can someone explain what the situation is now with Polderbits. I originally bought Polderbits Recorder & Editor in 2004 and ran it under XP. It is BRILLIANT. Now I have moved to Windows 8 and want to buy a new copy of Polderbits. But I am not sure what has happened to the company and who is now marketing - and supporting - Polderbits.

Also is a 64 bit version available or is it necessary to use the 32 bit version. Does the 32 bit version run under Windows 8?

Guest I had the same problem as all of you. I found some replacement for music with a program called Magic Audio Cleanic 2014. Not too expensive (about 90 $), rather good performances, but much more complicated than polderbits. And I couldn't find such a great program as Polderbits Video Recorder, that allowed you to capture any streaming window on your screen... What a pity!

Jozua Van Wyk I even used it to make recordings of programs that were streamed on the internet, and also recorded audio from Youtube with it, very versatile and easy.

Guest If you still have the download of the installer stored in your downloads folder, you can reinstall it for 7 days at a time. I just moved to a new computer and discovered this problem. Bur fortunately I still had that installer in the old computer.

Guest Yes, I'm looking for Movavi as an alternative but I really liked Polderbit.

Guest Since PolderbitS is dead now, what recording software do you choose after using PolberbitS?

Ramkaran Heeraman I bought the 64-bit version, and it worked extremely well. It was a lifetime warranty. The program is now lost and I need a copy. I really liked Polderbit.

msb_lucky1 Me too. I bought a lifetime license from them and now they are gone. I had to change computers and you all know the rest. I am now trying to muddle my way through a Nero product with so many bells and whistles that I can't figure out how to do simple editing. I have hundreds of hours of music to go through yet, I built a kind of hobby around it. Now what? Any suggestions?

Guest NCH sound tap does a very good job of getting music from YT. I don't think you can modify the recording much after it. PB was very good.

Ratnam Raj Prakash Why did it die? Can there be any revival?

Electron Are there no software geeks out there who could decompile the original file and get around the registration part? Surely someone could write a very similar prog. I bought a lifetime licence when it cost £8 and I had my money worth many times over.

Guest Yes they are as dead as the Monty Python parrot and they robbed their paid customers as they went out somehow. Can someone explain that?

Guest Guest
I have been using it for about 10 years and for the last 3+ on my very powerful PC with W7 64bit. For some strange reason it went into evaluation mode yesterday and I can't reactivate it. I also have the Polderbits Video Recorder. I do know that Rudy Kok the founder died a few years ago and John Knap took over. It is a Dutch outfit. I found this: http://website.informer.com/John+Knap+Polderbits+Software.html
I will try phoning to-morrow but the old support email is dead. If any luck I will post again.

msb_lucky1 I wouldn't mind hearing about any new access to the software. I had it for many years. I could use it without thinking about anything but the music. So easy to work with.

Guest I am a Polderbits owner and am trying to find info to load it onto my new computer. I was able to do this in the past but am now unable to get to the official website. I am very satisfied with the product and wish to continue to use it. My computer has gone from 32 bit to 64 bit and I think that was the message I received when I tried to reinstall. I was advised to go to the website for assistance but, alas, have found none. Can you help me? My version was the latest, at the time, v9. Thank you.

Guest Have they gone out of business? Because my 64 bit version does not work very well and even though I bought the software in April 2014 i can't reach the website either.
Can somebody reply to this.

Guest I owned their software for years. You CANNOT move it between computers, nor can you re-authorize it on the same computer if you do major software or hardware updates, without the 'authorized change' key that gets mailed to you when you e-mail them.
I can't find them online, either, and yes it does seem they have went out of business.
As I remember right, it was a UK or New Zealand company, but I no longer have the e-mails from them to contact them directly. Shame, the closest program I've found that can do what it did is a program called "WavePad' by NCH, and it's 3x the cost (about $100 as of Dec '14).

Guest It may be that Polderbits hit some kind of legal wall and had to shut down.
